What is this Masterclass about?

As we all know that children are the future of any country, the values and habits taught to them not only reflects their future but also reflect the future progress of that country. We all that election is one of the mechanisms to choosing our representative in the parliament, so it is very important to choose the right candidate. According to some, children should be taught politics in schools so that they get a better understanding of all the electoral proceedings and can wisely decide whom to choose as their representative. Political learning will not only widen their outlook but will also help them to elect the right candidate and they will learn the importance of voting. On the contrary, It is said that many children find politics boring and are not interested in knowing and understanding more about it. So it should be left up to the children to learn more as and when they choose. Let's join to debate!

How do I prepare for this Masterclass?

In this masterclass, Once participants join, the host will divide them into two teams, FOR and AGAINST.  Participants brainstorm the points related to the topic for an effective discussion.  Below are a few questions that will help you brainstorm, Note: Late joiners will be allowed as spectators. Join on time to debate.

1. Don’t you think that education on politics can become biased as mostly teachers project their opinions openly onto the students in favor of one thing?
2. Many dread the awkward conversation of politics even during family gatherings, so why should school be an appropriate place to have the discussion?
3. The discussion of politics can become awkward or turn into a heated argument. So why should it be a part of the schools?

1. They are the future of tomorrow and shouldn’t they be provided the basic knowledge to vote?
2. Children also are “political animals” so by keeping them out of politics, aren’t we depriving them of their right to speak?
3. To help children develop their sense of good and evil, justice and injustice isn’t understanding and engaging with politics crucial?
