Do what you love, and love what you do” is a common saying that is not commonly implemented in the job sector. A person spends the major part of his life working and those years of work turn into a monotonous routine if it isn’t fun. With a variety of jobs and business opportunities in the market at present, some people choose to climb the corporate ladder.
Climbing this ladder is not that simple as nothing worth having comes easy. A great amount of hard work and energy has to be put in to reach success. But is all that effort worth it? Or the passion of succeeding has blinded us all and turned us into corporate slaves?
In this masterclass, Once participants join ,the host will divide them in to two teams , FOR and AGAINST. Participants to brainstorm the points related to topic for an effective discussion. Below are few questions which will help you brainstorm, Note : Late joinees will be be allowed as spectators. Join on time to debate FOR TEAM:
If the word slavery is taken in its literal sense, then No, corporate jobs are definitely not slavery. Slavery, which existed a few centuries ago, was a serious social evil. It was racist, discriminatory, inhumane and what not. Equating Corporate jobs to slavery(literal sense) would be stretching it too far. Don’t you think
Corporate jobs do demand higher working hours and constant performance but the rewards are also high. And when the rewards are high, one cannot compare slavery to corporate jobs. Justify
Having a corporate job is always challenging. The breadth of exposure to diverse roles can aid your development and improve your holistic knowledge of how a company seamlessly works together. This means there’s more opportunity for training and mentoring, so don’t you think one can advance in their career and reach their goals even quicker with corporate jobs?
AGAINST TEAM:
India is a labor surplus country. This means that there are more workers than there are jobs. This has decreased the value of the employees, making them work for low wages and even made them work overtime . Does it stand true?
A few reasons employees are dissatisfied with corporate jobs is that they no longer feel like they are being engaged, lack of empathic behavior and too much competition. It always feels like they are chasing something in life and hence don’t you think it leads to a lot of mental and emotional drain?
No employee is forced to work in a place where he is disrespected or under-appreciated. He can always walk free. Slaves are literally people who are under bondage to serve .Today there is no dearth of jobs one need not sell himself to be a slave to corporate jobs . So what are your thoughts on this?
